MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTANT – HOME BASED WITH TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS – DOREST/HAMPSHIRE/SUSSEX AREA – CIRCA £40,000 SALARY + COMPANY BENEFITS

We are working with an Early Years learning provider with over 20 venues across the South of England who are continuing to expand and grow their portfolio of properties, with additional venues likely to be purchased over the next 18 months.
Due to the increased portfolio of venues, the company need to add to strengthen their finance team and engage someone to provide real-time management accounts and accurate forecasting for the business. This will include:
* Prepare monthly consolidated management accounts, including P&L statements and balance sheets, across all nursery locations
* Oversee the timely reporting of each nursery’s individual financial performance, supporting local managers with insight and clarity
* Lead the preparation of year-end financial statements and liaise with external accountants and auditors as required
* Manage the preparation and submission of quarterly VAT returns across the group, ensuring compliance and accuracy
* Support the Head of Finance with annual budgets, forecasts, and cash flow planning
* Maintain and improve financial systems, controls, and processes to support scalability
* Provide financial insight and challenge to operational teams to support sustainable growth
* Provide hands-on support to the Finance Assistants and provide cover in their absence, which would include managing accounts payable and receivable, processing invoices and purchase orders accurately, reconciling bank accounts and monitoring cash flow
Reporting into the Head of Finance, you will ensure that all requirements are completed accurately and in a timely manner with any discrepancies highlighted at the earliest opportunity. You will:
* Have experience in a management accounts position
* Gained professional qualifications, ideally CIMA or ACCA
* Have some experience within property or education environments
* Have experience of home working from home
* Able to travel to sites across South on occasions
* Have excellent attention to detail and strong communication skills
* Be able to work on your own initiative and have excellent decision-making skills
This is a newly created role of a fast-growing finance team, you will be part of the development and growth of the department, and the company are offering:
