Commercial Administrator
Location: M5 J10 Highways Improvement, Gloucestershire
Rate: £16.50 per hour (PAYE)
Hours: 42.5 per week, Monday to Friday (core hours 8–5, flexible for earlier finishes or later starts)
Contract: Long-term freelance
We’re supporting a large Tier 1 Civil Engineering contractor on the M5 J10 Highways Improvement scheme, a major infrastructure upgrade in the South West. The project team are looking for a Commercial Administrator to join them on site, working closely with the commercial and finance team to ensure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes.
This is a key support role focused on keeping on top of subcontractor payments, purchase orders, and general commercial admin. It’s a great opportunity for someone with strong organisational skills and a good head for numbers who enjoys being part of a busy site team.
Key Responsibilities
Processing and tracking subcontractor invoices and payment applications
Raising and managing purchase orders and goods received notes
Supporting cost reporting and data entry into internal systems
Maintaining accurate financial and project records
Liaising with internal teams and external suppliers to resolve invoice or PO queries
General admin support for the site-based commercial team
What We’re Looking For
Previous experience in an administrative or finance support role within construction, civil engineering, or a similar industry
Experience using Financial / Accounting systems
Confident using Excel
Strong attention to detail and accuracy with numbers
Organised, proactive, and comfortable working to deadlines
A team player who’s happy working on site and supporting different functions
