We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Chief Medical Officer for the UK & Ireland to oversee all medical assistance activities within the UK scope, including hub-related cases.
AXA Partners' medical team provides 24/7 medical assistance worldwide, committed to delivering the best service. The role involves developing a comprehensive framework for medical standards, processes, and protocols to ensure high-quality patient care, coordinating medical staff, and supporting medical assistance initiatives. In case of escalations, the Chief Medical Officer manages and proposes remediation actions.
This position also oversees medical staff credentials and abilities, manages internal controls, supports commercial campaigns, and promotes team training and spirit.
The role is based in our Redhill office with a hybrid working model. The workweek is 35 hours, Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm.
Key Responsibilities Include
1. Medical Leadership and Strategy:
o Develop and implement medical strategies aligned with company goals.
o Provide leadership on medical issues to senior management.
o Stay updated on global medical trends and integrate relevant practices.
2. Standards and Quality Assurance:
o Establish high standards of medical care and develop protocols.
o Oversee quality assurance and ensure regulatory compliance.
o Implement continuous improvement initiatives.
3. Medical Staff Management:
o Support recruitment, credentialing, and development of medical staff.
o Conduct performance evaluations and promote professional growth.
4. International Medical Assistance:
o Oversee international medical assistance services.
o Maintain relationships with global medical partners.
o Ensure high-quality international medical services.
5. Operational Oversight:
o Supervise daily medical operations for efficiency and quality.
o Support complex cases and ensure compliance with policies.
6. Emergency Response and Crisis Management:
o Lead medical response during emergencies.
o Develop emergency protocols and coordinate during crises.
7. Commercial and Client Support:
o Provide medical expertise for campaigns and client engagements.
o Participate in client meetings when needed.
8. Training and Development:
o Develop training programs for medical staff.
o Encourage teamwork and continuous learning.
Your Profile
* Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
* Valid UK medical license.
* Specializations: Critical Care, Anaesthesiology, Emergency Medicine, or Internal Medicine with critical care experience.
* Knowledge of critical care, emergency medicine, and aeromedical transport.
* Experience in medical staff management and development.
* Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, international environment.
* Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills
* Experience in emergency response and crisis management.
* Knowledge of international medical assistance and healthcare systems.
* Multilingual abilities are a plus.
