St Ninians Out of School Care (OSC) is a highly successful long-established club operating within St Ninians Primary School. We offer a warm, caring, fun and professional service registered to take up to 44 children from the school each day Monday to Friday. We are seeking a part-time Assistant Manager to join our team on a permanent basis.

The successful candidate will be given the opportunity to work under their own initiative as well as contribute to the comprehensive policies and procedures that are already in place to support the safety, wellbeing and enjoyment of the children and staff. They will be joining a warm, respectful team so the ability to foster excellent working relationships is essential, as is the need to show flexibility and work collaboratively with the team on duty. As the Manager also works part-time, candidates must be able and willing to be the Lead responsible adult on some days, supported by other Senior staff.

Essential criteria:

1. SVQ level 3 / HNC or higher in Playwork or Childcare qualification.
2. Minimum of 2 years’ experience working within a childcare setting, preferably of at least 20 children.
3. Minimum of 6mths experience in a staff supervisory role, preferably in a childcare setting but not essential. The post holder will be able to adapt their style to accommodate the diverse nature of the team be skilled at encouraging and developing less experienced staff.
4. Some professional administration experience.
5. Computer literate and competent with MS Excel and other MS products.
6. Excellent organisational skills.
7. Has own transport to enable required shopping such as snack / resources.
8. Demonstrates a professional mindset.
9. Strong understanding of confidentiality.
10. Would easily be respectful to other staff, children and parents.

Desirable criteria:

11. Child Protection trained*
12. Fire Safety trained*
13. Qualified First Aider*
14. Elementary Food Hygiene trained*
15. Experience of leading team meetings.
16. Experience in the administration of financial records.
17. Strong knowledge of GDPR.
18. Has been a Key Worker, including the upkeep of Care Plans.
19. Can input to Quality Assurance documents and Improvement Plans.
20. Understanding of Care Inspectorate Quality Indicators.
21. Able to attend bi-monthly morning local Council Network meetings.

*If not already qualified, the post holder will be required to complete these training courses. Arranged & paid for by the service.

Working school term time only, 38wks per year - PLEASE NOTE YOUR SALARY IS SPREAD SO THAT YOU RECEIVE AN EQUAL PAY EACH OF THE 12MNTHS, EVEN WHEN WE ARE CLOSED. 7WKS HOLIDAY PAY INCLUDED WITHIN THIS.

Hours are negotiable between (13 – 18 per week, minimum of Wed to Fri but 4 days offered if desired & suitable to the service). You would work between 1.30 – 6pm as agreed.
