Early Year Practitioner Location: Gloucestershire Hourly Rate: £13.58ph Hours: 37.5 hours per week Temp to Perm opportunities A bit about the role This is an exciting opportunity to join with a nursery at HMP Eastwood Park. The early years mother and baby unit offers holistic support for mothers and their babies up to 18 months old who are often vulnerable and may have complex emotional and health needs. You will work closely with a range of professionals and as part of a team to offer the best positive outcomes for the mothers on the unit. We are looking for a highly skilled, enthusiastic early years practitioner to provide a range of stimulating activities for children aged 0-2years in line with the Early Years Foundation stage. You will work as part of a team, led by Early Years Practitioner Lead. About the service Eastwood park's mother and baby unit provides an Ofsted registered day nursery, supportive and nurturing environment for mothers and their babies within a prison setting.The service aims to promote positive family relationships while ensuring the safety and well-being of both mothers and their children.The unit is designed to meet the unique needs of the families, offering tailor programmes that focus on parenting skills, emotional support, and personal development.By fostering a sense of community and collaboration, Eastwood Park helps mothers build strong foundations for their children's futures, all while navigating the challenges of their circumstances.The dedicated staff work closely with the mothers to ensure they receive the guidance and resources necessary to thrive as parents. As an Early Years Practitioner you will Provide individually or as part of a team, practical quality care, support interventions and range of activities and experiences to children, young people and families, as advised and in line with agreed plans. Be alert to child protection and safeguarding issues and inform appropriate line managers about concerns in line with our safeguarding policies and procedures. Our job description for the Early years Practitioner outlines the requirements of the role but the must-haves' are: Relevant level 3 qualification in Early Years or above (Ofsted requirement) Previous experience working in a nursery setting aged 0 to 5 years. Paediatric First Aid Qualification & Food Hygiene or ability to achieve.
