Job Title: Transport Planning Manager
Location: New Rossington (Doncaster)
Salary: £45,000 per annum
Holidays: 23 days rising to 25 days after 5 years of service (plus bank holidays)

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly experienced Transport Planning Manager to join our team in New Rossington. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with a solid background in distribution or manufacturing, who thrives in a fast-paced, results-driven environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and optimising daily transport operations, ensuring cost-effective, compliant, and efficient transport planning.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage the transport planning function for the site, ensuring efficient use of resources across all routes and schedules.

Drive continuous improvement in transport planning processes to maximise delivery performance and minimise costs.
*
Develop and implement transport strategies aligned with business objectives and customer requirements.
*
Manage the day-to-day relationship with third-party logistics providers and internal stakeholders.
*
Monitor and report on transport KPIs including delivery accuracy, cost per mile, route efficiency, and vehicle utilisation.

Ensure compliance with all transport legislation and company policies, including Health & Safety and Driver Hours regulations.
*
Work closely with warehouse and production teams to ensure timely dispatch and delivery of goods.
*
Lead, coach and develop a small team of transport planners/schedulers, promoting a high-performance culture.

Handle escalations and provide proactive solutions to transport-related challenges.
Key Requirements:

Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Transport Planning Manager or similar leadership role.
*
Proven background in a distribution or manufacturing environment.
*
Strong understanding of UK transport legislation, routing software and fleet management.
*
Demonstrable leadership experience with the ability to develop and motivate teams.
*
Exceptional organisational and communication skills.
*
Competent in MS Office and transport planning tools (e.g. Paragon, Microlise, or similar).
*
Ability to make data-led decisions and work under pressure in a deadline-driven setting.
