Join a leading engineering company based in Birtley, Tyne & Wear, as a Fabricator. This role offers a temporary ongoing opportunity where you will be integral to the maintenance and repair of a range of heavy steel products, reporting directly to the Production Supervisor.
Day-to-day of the role:
* Follow daily work processes through job cards.
* Measure and cut out templates to fabricate the correct size of replacement steel plate.
* Operate power grinders and use oxy burners to cut out thick plate steel.
* Perform fabrication and welding of heavy plate steel.
* Utilise rollers to form steel.
* Conduct quality inspections of work carried out.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Proven experience as a Fabricator, ideally within a heavy steel product environment.
* Strong attention to detail and precision.
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
* Experience with heavy plate steel fabrication and welding.
* Proficiency in using power tools and equipment such as power grinders and oxy burners.
