Responsibilities
* Lead Project Management: Oversee the successful delivery of the Nature Towns & Cities project, including developing and implementing a Nature and Health Strategy and Action Plan.
* Financial Oversight: Handle a £1m+ revenue programme, including budget management, grant claims, and procurement.
* Compliance and Reporting: Ensure adherence to Council and funder policies, financial regulations, and produce detailed reports for stakeholders.
Note: Applicants appointed to posts that require an enhanced DBS clearance must declare any periods of time that they have lived, studied or worked abroad and be prepared to provide an Overseas Criminal Records Certificate (OCRC) or a Statement of Good Conduct (SOGC) relating to anytime they were overseas.
Qualifications and Experience
Ideal candidates will have a strong background in project management (preferably in the green space or conservation sector), experience with large-scale, multi-agency partnerships, budget management skills, and the ability to influence at all levels. A relevant degree or equivalent experience and a recognised project management qualification (e.g., PRINCE2), or equivalent experience, are essential. For internal council candidates the role can be applied for as a fixed-term role, or a secondment. This post is covered by the Government's Code of Practice on the English Language Fluency Duty for public sector workers. The post holder will be required to communicate verbally with customers and provide advice and/or information in accurate spoken English.
