* To facilitate and perform testing and qualification activities in the Test Laboratory.
* Ensure equipment is well maintained, operated safely, and the area is kept well organised.
* Ensure that products requiring routine or qualification testing are tested in a systematic and planned way to meet required specifications.
* Provide data that will help improve the quality and features of the products.
1. Testing
o Test and qualify existing products to ensure that they continue to meet the defined specifications and approvals.
o Be involved in the testing of new products to assist in their approval and ensure they meet the correct specification.
o Investigate any test failures or anomalies, following up with the relevant managers or departments.
o Report on the findings of the testing programmes, suggesting changes where appropriate and establishing measurements for improvements.
o Drive technical and statistical investigations on products and processes, including root‑cause analysis and implementation of corrective and preventative actions.
o Write test reports summarising the findings, conclusions and pictorial evidence of the test as defined in the report templates.
2. Equipment
o Own and manage all of the testing equipment, ensuring that they are properly calibrated, safe and properly maintained.
3. Procedures
o Oversee test procedures, amending and improving them as appropriate.
o Record test results for future reference.
4. Communication
o Liaise with other key departments such as engineering, as well as customers and suppliers where appropriate.
o Give feedback to Engineers on progress and issues related to work.
o Raise ideas for improvement or concerns, if appropriate.
5. General
o Assist internal and external audit teams to ensure that the Quality system complies with relevant standards.
o Champion all aspects of the Company’s continuous improvement programme and identify opportunities for implementing process improvements.
o Set and maintain visible standards of housekeeping for all areas under control.
o Undertake any additional tasks as may be delegated by the Laboratory Lead, Engineering or Quality Manager.

Requirements
* Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, materials science, or a related technical field.
* Several years of hands‑on experience in aerospace testing or laboratory environments.
* Familiarity with aerospace materials, components, and industry standards (e.g., AS910).
Technical Skills
* Expertise in designing and conducting mechanical, electrical, or environmental tests on aerospace components.
* Knowledge in operating and maintaining laboratory instrumentation (e.g., tensile testers, fatigue machines, environmental chambers).
* Data analysis and technical report writing.
* Proficiency with LIMS (Laboratory Information Management Systems) and statistical tools.
