Job Summary
There is a vacancy for a full-time specialist Psychiatrist working with Hartlepool CMHT and Community Hub Team. The post is based at Stewart House, Hartlepool, with clinics also at Stewart House. The Specialist will provide clinical leadership, working with staff to assess and treat patients. The Consultant is supported by a Foundation Doctor and a shared Specialty Doctor (0.8 WTE).
Hartlepool has a population of 92,000. The current team has one Consultant; this vacancy will support both teams in Hartlepool. The post does not involve inpatient or crisis duties.
Main duties of the job
1. Provide leadership and decision-making in patient care.
2. Assess, evaluate, and manage patients, formulating diagnoses and management plans.
3. Respect patient dignity, confidentiality, and communication, especially in challenging situations.
4. Apply public health principles to promote wellbeing and prevention.
5. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to manage risks across settings.
6. Recognize and ensure safeguarding for children, young people, and adults.
