Due to nursery growth, Fledgelings are looking for a second Nursery Manager to work with the current manager in leading and managing the day-to-day operations of the nursery, ensuring high standards of care, education, and compliance with all relevant legislation. The Nursery Manager is responsible for developing the nursery team, overseeing curriculum implementation, safeguarding children, and fostering strong relationships with parents and carers.

Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Management
* Manage the daily running of the nursery, ensuring smooth operations at all times.
* Lead, support, and develop a team of early years practitioners and support staff.
* Conduct regular staff meetings, supervisions, and appraisals.
* Manage staff rotas, absences, recruitment, and induction processes.
* Ensure a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.
Childcare & Education
* Oversee the implementation of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum.
* Monitor and support high standards of teaching, learning, and assessment.
* Ensure every child's needs are met through personalised care and planning.
* Promote and safeguard the welfare of children at all times.
* Track children's progress and ensure accurate record keeping and reporting.
Health, Safety & Compliance
* Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements including Ofsted, health and safety, food hygiene, and safeguarding legislation.
* Keep all policies and procedures up-to-date and implemented effectively.
* Conduct regular risk assessments and maintain a safe and secure environment.
Parent & Community Engagement
* Build strong relationships with parents and carers through regular communication.
* Handle parental queries, concerns, and complaints in a professional and timely manner.
* Organize parent meetings, events, and workshops to promote family involvement.
Financial & Administrative Duties
* Monitor and manage the nursery budget and resources effectively.
* Maintain accurate records including registers, child files, staff records, and incident reports.
Person Specification:
Essential Qualifications & Experience
* Level 3 or above in Childcare/Early Years Education (e.g., CACHE, NVQ, or equivalent).
* At least 2 years of experience in a supervisory or management role in an early years setting.
* Knowledge of EYFS, safeguarding, and other relevant legislation and frameworks.
* Paediatric First Aid and Safeguarding qualifications (or willingness to obtain).
