Lead Optimistically by Championing Growth and Development to Mobilize the Enterprise Role Summary The Global Executive Director, Global Client Enablement, is a senior leader responsible for shaping, growing, and innovating WPP Media’s global commerce client relationships. You will lead the strategic growth and operational excellence of a portfolio of global commerce clients. As a trusted advisor to C-suite clients (CMO, CDO, CEO), you will architect strategies that unlock new growth horizons across agentic commerce, retail media, social commerce, and DTC. You will also act as the global commerce voice in major new business opportunities, orchestrating our best talent and storytelling to set the industry standard for how commerce drives brand and business performance. Key Responsibilities Client Leadership & Growth Serve as the global commerce lead for a portfolio of high-growth clients, shaping the next era of their business and ensuring WPP Media is their most indispensable growth partner. Partner directly with C-suite leaders to translate ambition into actionable, long-term transformation roadmaps that connect creativity, media, and data. Build and drive multi-year growth roadmaps that expand our clients’ commercial impact and redefine how brands transact, engage, and convert in an agentic and omnichannel world. Actively identify whitespace opportunities and develop proposals to expand WPP Media’s remit across markets and disciplines. Ensure consistent performance, measurement, and value delivery across all client engagements. New Business & Growth Enablement Be the commerce front line in global, London based pitches, crafting transformative strategies that set WPP apart and define what “modern commerce” means to clients. Lead the narrative that connects our clients’ brand purpose to commercial momentum by ensuring every pitch tells a cohesive, insight-driven, and emotionally compelling story. Orchestrate regional and global talent to create integrated, world-class solutions Elevate WPP’s commerce reputation externally — through thought leadership, speaking engagements, and active participation in the global commerce community. Operational & People Leadership Build and mentor diverse, high-performing teams that sit at the cutting edge of commerce innovation spanning retail, social, AI-driven decisioning, and emerging agentic platforms. Create the connective tissue between global, regional, and local teams to ensure consistency, speed, and impact. Proactively assess client and team health, taking bold, decisive action to ensure quality, stability, and forward momentum. Collaborate with global client leadership to embed commerce thinking into WPP’s broader integrated marketing proposition Contribute to capability building and the development of next-generation commerce leaders within the network Champion cross-disciplinary collaboration across media, creative, technology, and data teams to ensure seamless delivery What You Bring Extensive experience in global client leadership, commerce strategy, or performance marketing Proven experience leading large-scale, multi-market client relationships and managing global cross-functional teams Deep expertise in modern commerce disciplines — including retail media, social commerce, DTC, marketplace strategy, and emerging agentic commerce models A strong strategic operator with the ability to translate complex business problems into growth strategies Exceptional communication and influence skills with senior executives and partners Positive and collaborative approach to problem solving Passion for innovation, client partnership, and continuous improvement.
