We are looking for a Regional Painter and Decorator to join our regional team were you will work across a number of our care homes within a specified region. However, the first 6 months of this position will be solely based at Copper Beeches Care Home. As a Regional Painter and Decorator you will be responsible for completing maintenance and refurbishment work to the home. As a Regional Painter and Decorator you will: To be able to complete maintenance and refurbishment work, mostly of a decorating nature, although at times work of associated trades will be necessary Carry out pre and post inspections of occupied and empty properties to determine the extent of internal and external painting and decoration required Having established the decoration need carry out the most cost effective and expedient preparation/repair/ application of decorative products Carry out a range of external and internal painting and redecoration tasks in occupied and empty properties whilst achieving a durable and quality finish Prepare and clean surfaces using hand-held power tools and the appropriate methods. This could include scraping, sanding, sand-blasting, hydro-blasting, steam-cleaning; and removal of loose paint; repair cracks and holes in walls and joinery by applying fillers/ sealant. Prepare/sand surface for application of decorative product To complete all appropriate documentation accurately and on time To escalate problems arising to the Home or Property Manager in a timely manner To communicate effectively with all colleagues and Property Manager Understand and ensure the implementation of the Home's Health and Safety policy, and Emergency and Fire procedures Cover for annual leave / absence in other Care Homes as and when appropriate Establishing and maintaining positive working relationships both with colleagues, residents, visitors and other health professionals and agencies.
