About the role
As a Contracts Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing multiple construction projects across the North West, Yorkshire & The Midlands, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards. You will manage contracts, coordinate site teams, liaise with clients and stakeholders, and implement company policies. Your role will involve strategic planning, risk management, and ensuring compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements.
Duties include:
* Oversee multiple construction projects, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
* Manage programmes, schedules, budgets, and project cash flow.
* Coordinate site teams and liaise with Site Managers and Supervisors.
* Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations, CDM 2015, and company procedures.
* Conduct site visits, audits, risk assessments, and implement mitigation strategies.
* Manage subcontractor payments, contract variations, and tender documentation.
* Maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships, addressing issues and resolving disputes.
* Represent the company at meetings with clients, consultants, and authorities.
* Lead and mentor project teams, fostering collaboration, safety, and continuous improvement.
What we're looking for:
Experience
* Proven experience as a Contracts Manager (Main Contractor).
* Track record managing multiple projects.
Qualifications & Training
* SMSTS, CSCS (Black), First Aid (5-day), Temporary Works Coordinator.
* Fire Safety Awareness, Working at Height.
* Desirable: NVQ/SVQ L6 or L7, IOSH/NEBOSH, Scaffold Inspection, RICS/CIOB, MHFA, Asbestos Awareness, contract law training.
Knowledge & Skills
* JCT/NEC contracts, CDM 2015, H&S compliance.
* Fire safety, cladding, risk management, quality control.
* Desirable: Modern methods, sustainability (e.g., BREEAM), dispute resolution, commercial acumen.
* Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and decision-making.
* IT literate; calm under pressure.
* Desirable: Mentoring experience, strategic relationship building.
