The Role
We are seeking an experienced and highly capable General Manager to lead the production of high-value, large-scale, and technically complex products. Each product is delivered through a complex, long-duration assembly process, requiring excellent operational oversight, uncompromising quality standards, and disciplined leadership.
This is a senior operational role within a secure manufacturing environment, responsible for end-to-end factory performance, people leadership, compliance, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide overall leadership and day-to-day management of factory operations
* Ensure production plans and schedules are delivered safely, on time, and to specification
* Maintain and enforce robust quality assurance standards across complex assembly processes
* Drive process improvement through lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives
* Ensure compliance with all UK Health & Safety legislation and internal policies
* Manage factory budgets, cost control, and efficient resource allocation
* Lead, motivate, and develop a skilled workforce, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence
* Work closely with Engineering, Procurement, Logistics, and end customer to ensure seamless coordination and delivery
About You
* Experience in factory or manufacturing management
* Proven experience managing high-value, complex assembly operations
* Strong technical knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality control, and supply chain operations
* A track record of leading and developing high-performing teams
* Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and decision-making skills
Please note that any offer of employment is conditional upon successful completion of BPSS and SC clearance. This requires the applicant to be a sole British National with a minimum of five years’ continuous UK address history, typically with no periods of 30 consecutive days or more spent outside the UK.
