Reporting to the Medical Education Manager, the key responsibilities of the role are:
* Provide full administrative support for medical education, specifically to the Director of Medical Education, Medical Education Manager, Postgraduate Clinical Tutor, Director Birmingham Orthopaedic Training Programme, Head of Education and Training, Head of the Undergraduate Musculoskeletal Academy, Course organisers and Trainers on the Birmingham Orthopaedic rotation.
* Deputise for the Medical Education Manager in their absence to promote, organise and co-ordinate postgraduate, undergraduate and continuing medical education for all doctors. Attend meetings and make decisions as appropriate.
Qualifications
Applicants should be qualified to A Level / a Level 3 qualification, or have an equivalent level of knowledge acquired by experience, with evidence of continuing personal and professional development. Experience of coordinating training programmes and activities is essential. The ability to work collaboratively with others, adopt a flexible approach and multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment is also essential. Previous experience of working in the NHS and in a medical education environment would be advantageous. Applicants must be able to use Microsoft Office packages to a high standard.

The Trust hosts the Birmingham Orthopaedic Teaching Programme, one of the largest and most successful orthopaedic training programmes in the UK. The programme is comprised of 40 specialist registrars at different stages of a 6‑year programme, rotating through 9 hospitals across the West Midlands. The Trust partners with the University of Birmingham to provide 2‑week musculoskeletal placements for their fourth‑year medical students.
