Thomas Search are working on behalf of a not-for-profit housing organisation with deep roots in the community and a bold vision for the future. They support over 1,800 vulnerable people each year, helping individuals live independently and with dignity across Surrey, Berkshire, West Sussex, and South-West London.
We're looking for a skilled Asset Condition, Damp & Mould Surveyor to join a supportive Asset Management team who take pride in improving living standards across our housing portfolio. If you are passionate about making homes safer, healthier, and better maintained, I'd love to hear from you.
Day to day:
Be the go-to professional for property inspections, identifying and tackling repair, damp, mould, and building condition issues.
Carry out stock condition surveys and ensure homes meet safety and compliance standards.
Work alongside Asset Managers, Contractors, and Consultants to validate data, monitor works, and drive quality delivery.
Lead damp & mould investigations in line with Awaab's Law, ensuring fast, effective solutions for residents.
Support compliance activities (fire safety, asbestos, legionella, etc.) while keeping inspection data accurate and actionable.
Write specifications, oversee small works projects, and make sure outcomes are delivered to the highest standard. What we're looking for:
Experience in property inspections, surveys, and building maintenance
Knowledge of building pathology, defects, damp & mould
Strong background in residential property types and statutory compliance.
HNC/HND (or equivalent) in a construction / building discipline.
Organised, IT-confident, and able to manage your own workload.
Clear communicator, able to guide residents, contractors, and colleagues. This is your chance to play a central role in building a greener, fairer future for social housing.
