Strategic Residential & Regeneration Focus
FutureGen Recruitment is delighted to be working with a highly regarded Leeds-based planning consultancy seeking a Senior Town Planner to join a growing team advising on residential-led regeneration and strategic housing projects across West Yorkshire.
This consultancy is known for its pragmatic approach — balancing planning policy, commercial viability and deliverability. Their project portfolio includes large housing allocations, brownfield regeneration sites, and mixed-use schemes supporting Leeds’ ongoing growth.
The Role
As a Senior Town Planner, you will take the lead on a number of projects, acting as the key day-to-day planning advisor for clients.
Responsibilities will include:
* Managing planning applications through to determination
* Drafting detailed Planning Statements and strategy reports
* Negotiating directly with local authorities and consultees
* Representing clients at planning committee
* Supporting Local Plan representations and site promotions
* Assisting with appeal submissions where required
* Mentoring junior planners and supporting team development
This is an opportunity to step into a more autonomous role while still having support from senior leadership.
About You
* MRTPI qualified or close to achieving chartership
* Confident report writing and stakeholder engagement skills
* Commercially minded and delivery-focused
* Experience in consultancy, local authority or developer-side environments
