Our client is a leading provider of IT-managed services, onsite support, and field engineering to the Education sector. With a growing portfolio of public and private schools, multi-academy trusts, colleges, and universities, they have secured numerous contracts and newly built school projects, leading to a need for a dedicated Senior IT Project Manager. As a Senior IT Project Manager, you'll lead the design and execution of IT solutions, covering server, storage, network, wireless, audio-visual, and security projects. Your main responsibility is to align these projects with the specific needs of the clients, overseeing the entire project lifecycle from conception to delivery. Your focus on technical precision and client satisfaction is crucial, whether on construction sites or diverse project locations. This role involves frequent travel across the UK to oversee network installations at customer sites. During term time, it's three days on-site anywhere in the country and two days in the office. Expect on-site presence or staying away during most school holidays. Ideally, the candidate should be close enough to the office for flexibility when not on-site. The goal is to balance efficiency and flexibility in network installations. Responsibilities: Conduct technical pre-sales activities for networking and wireless opportunities. Perform technical consultancy and audit services as needed. Generate technical design documentation to bolster project and sales processes. Oversee project delivery, including both remote and on-site installation and configuration. Offer third-line support services directly to clients and act as an escalation point from the support desk. Aid in the assessment and development of new products and services. Skills and Requirements: Background in working with Aruba switching, Aruba network (Aruba AirWave, Aruba Central, Aruba ClearPass), and wireless technologies. Working knowledge of HyperVisor technologies such as Hyper-V and VMWare Experience with Smoothwall appliances ACSP, ACMP, ACCP, ACDP or equivalent Demonstrated ability to create comprehensive high and low-level design documentation. Skilled in conducting customer site surveys/audits and producing necessary reports. Competent in deploying and supporting enterprise LAN/WLAN infrastructure. Proven expertise in designing and implementing complex configurations. Hands-on experience with configuring and troubleshooting security devices such as Firewalls and Web filters. Familiarity with network authentication, including Radius, and knowledge of Microsoft NPS. Excellent customer service and communication abilities. Effective prioritization of workload to meet both client and company expectations. Flexible approach to tasks and duties, with a willingness to adapt to changing business needs. Preferably with previous experience in a Managed Service Provider (MSP) environment, with a focus on pre-sales activities.
