The Role NHS Lanarkshire Lung Cancer Specialist Service are seeking applications for highly motivated, enthusiastic and dynamic registered nurses to join their Lung Cancer Nurse Specialist Team. Experienced registered nurses who are committed to providing quality evidence based lung cancer care with a personal commitment to life long learning aligned to the NES NMAHP framework and ACCEND, are welcomed to apply. The role of the Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialist is highly specialised these positions provide cancer service across NHS Lanarkshire which comprises of three district general hospitals providing comprehensive person centred cancer care. Leading a team of CNS and the coordination of the complex care needs of people with lung cancer across all stages of the patient’s pathway from diagnosis through treatment and follow up or end of life care, are key components of the posts. What we'll need you to bring Registered Nurse with valid NMC Registration · Educated to/working towards/operating at Masters Level Post graduate expertise within speciality / area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge required to lead safety, effectively and efficiently. Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality. Advanced Specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies and procedures associated with the speciality/area of practice ensuring that the level of expertise can be utilised to deliver leadership within speciality. Evidence of application of advanced practice skills in speciality and applying clinical judgement. Evidence of further developed knowledge and experience in management and/or leadership. Further education/evidence of Continuous Professional Development in area of speciality including study days/courses/post graduate qualification The post holder will possess excellent team-working/leadership skills and have the ability to motivate and influence others and work using own initiative Excellent listening, communication and interpersonal skills and effective time management skills Working knowledge of basic information technology Please note for all vacancies where a driving licence is required this must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence. It would be great if you also have Principles of Lung Cancer Module Principles of Leadership in Cancer Care Module Accredited SACT course / Module. Acute Oncology Passport / Module Advanced Clinical Assessment & Decision Making Qualification. Non-Medical Prescribing Qualification (V300) Specialist post-graduate /post registration qualification (or equivalent experience) in Lung Cancer Advanced Communication Skills / Training Communication or Counselling Skills qualification / course Significant comprehensive post registration experience within cancer. Experience of nurse led clinics Experience of working with MDT Experience as a CNS Experience of undertaking audit and research Experience of managing capability and competence Experience of prioritising work and managing competing demands Be able to demonstrate knowledge of national, regional and local cancer strategies / priorities Experience of multi-professional teaching Experience of providing mentorship and clinical supervision Contract type Fixed Term or Secondment for 12 Months Full time 37 hours Please note this is a fixed term post for 12 Months Where a post only has temporary funding and an existing member of NHS Lanarkshire staff wishes to apply, this will be treated as a secondment. The employee MUST already have written agreement from their line manager to be released on a secondment before applying for the post.
