The role of the Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialist is highly specialised these positions provide cancer service across NHS Lanarkshire which comprises of three district general hospitals providing comprehensive person centred cancer care. Leading a team of CNS and the coordination of the complex care needs of people with lung cancer across all stages of the patient’s pathway from diagnosis through treatment and follow up or end of life care, are key components of the posts. Advanced Specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies and procedures associated with the speciality/area of practice ensuring that the level of expertise can be utilised to deliver leadership within speciality. Evidence of application of advanced practice skills in speciality and applying clinical judgement. Evidence of further developed knowledge and experience in management and/or leadership.
