A typical day in the life of a Chef at Orbis Care will involve:
1. To ensure the smooth running of the kitchen
2. To store, prepare and serve food and beverage items in Accordance with all Food Handling and Health and Safety Policies and Procedures.
3. Daily cleaning of all areas of the kitchen in accordance with the Units schedules and specifications, using appropriate equipment, chemicals, and work methods
4. To ensure Documentation duties and procedures are maintained for efficiency and accuracy i.e. temperature of food and equipment
5. Ensure all equipment is maintained and cleaned in the appropriate manner. Report any maintenance problems to the Managers as soon as any problems occur, keeping an accurate record.
To be successful in a career with Orbis all you’ll need is:
6. Catering Diploma (City & Guilds/BTEC)
7. Level 3 Food Hygiene
8. Significant experience with line management responsibilities
9. Ideally you'll have experience in a care home setting, although desirable this is not essential
10. A can-do attitude, resilient and reliable nature.
11. Compassion and empathy.
12. Enthusiasm to promote independence & choice.
13. The ability to work flexibly.
