Duties can include but are not limited to, greeting and directing patients, effective use of the appointment system, booking appointments, processing of information and assisting patients as required and liaising with staff and external agencies.\n\nThis opportunity is for a Modern Apprenticeship on a 14 month contract but the Practice would be open to offering a permanent role for the right candidate on completion of the Apprenticeship.\n\n\nResponsibilities include:\n\uD83D\uDD37Processing requests for appointments and prescription requests\n\uD83D\uDD37Answering incoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the callers request appropriately\n\uD83D\uDD37Effectively signposting patients to the appropriate healthcare professional depending on the presenting condition\n\uD83D\uDD37Initiating contact with and responding to, requests from patients, team members and external agencies\n\uD83D\uDD37Administration of patient records\n\uD83D\uDD37Inputting data into the patientâs healthcare records as necessary\n\uD83D\uDD37Managing all queries as necessary in an efficient manner\n\uD83D\uDD37Carrying out system searches as requested\n\uD83D\uDD37Maintaining a clean, tidy, effective working area at all times\n\uD83D\uDD37Monitoring and maintaining the reception area and notice boards\n\uD83D\uDD37Supporting all clinical staff with general tasks as requested\n\uD83D\uDD37Monitoring of stationery supplies\n\uD83D\uDD37Contribute ideas and suggestions to the smooth running of the reception and administrative functions\n \uD83D\uDD36Along with the duties in your role, you will undertake a Level 6 SVQ in Business and Administration and will be supported throughout.\n\n\uD83D\uDD36You will have the opportunity to learn about different aspects of a medical administrator role and about the importance of confidentiality.\n\n\uD83D\uDD36You will learn how to communicate with team members, patients and external partners to provide a high level of customer service. The most important thing is that you are motivated, keen to learn and good at communicating with a range of people. You need to be confident to respond to challenges and patient queries.\n\n\uD83D\uDD37National 5 qualification in English is essential\n\uD83D\uDD37National 5s in Mathematics and Business and Administration are desirable but not essential\n\uD83D\uDD37Good communication and interpersonal skills are extremely important\n\uD83D\uDD37Previous customer service experience is desirable but it is essential that you have an understanding of good customer service\n\uD83D\uDD37Enthusiasm and a 'can do' attitude is key- you should be willing to learn and work hard\n\uD83D\uDD37Ability to work well as part of a team\n\uD83D\uDD37Time management is key- you will be part of a busy GP Practice team and will have to manage your time between your duties and your SVQ work\n\uD83D\uDD37Ability to maintain confidentiality when working with sensitive information\n\nIf you think you are the right person for this challenging and rewarding role, we would love to hear from you!\n\nWe expect a high level of interest and we may close the advert earlier than is stated.
