The role
As an Associate Director, you will be responsible for supporting and delivering designs for the Mission Critical sector. You will work within a multidisciplinary team of engineers delivering a consistently high-quality service for clients, ensuring that repeat and new business opportunities are developed, and profitability is achieved. The role is instrumental in helping to grow and develop a team of technically competent engineers within this sector, as well as seeking new opportunities to develop the business.
Main roles and responsibilities
1. You will be working in the Mission Critical Team primarily working on Data Centres.
2. This is a client facing role and you will be attending project meetings and taking the initial brief from the client on behalf of the team.
3. You will lead the development of initial strategic concepts for projects ensuring solutions are appropriate for the brief and regulatory standards.
4. Overseeing and verifying electrical services design calculations using Trimble (Amtech), and or ETAP and various lighting software.
5. Identifying and managing resources to achieve project requirements.
6. Undertaking responsibility for financial management and reporting on project profitability.
7. Assisting in the preparation of fee submissions and project bids.
8. Reviewing technical competency of electrical work.
9. Undertaking technical and quality reviews of project information.
Key qualifications and skills
10-15 years experience within the Mission Critical Design Industry.
Suitably qualified Building Services Engineering degree or equivalent qualification preferable but not essential.
Chartered Engineer status, or working towards submission, to either CIBSE, IMechE, and IET or equivalent.
Previous consultancy experience working in a multi-disciplinary environment.
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
