An exciting opportunity to join the team at the new Regional Learning Disability and Autism Unit in Dawlish (The Brook). The service offers inpatient support to adults with learning disabilities and autistic adults. The building is state of the art and the service aims to become a centre of excellence. Job Summary
* To assess care needs, develop, implement and evaluate individual care plans.
* To provide the named nurse/practitioner role to people who use the service.
* To promote and improve the quality of service provided.
* To manage the unit in the absence of the Ward Manager / Team Leader.
* To participate in the internal rotation system including weekend working.

Qualifications
Essential
* Level 1 Registered Nurse RNLD / RNMH
* Degree or HE Diploma
* Willingness to undertake further training
* Working knowledge of common computer programs (email, internet, word processing)
Desirable
* Post-qualification Teaching Qualification
* Practice Assessor / Supervisor Training
* Post-registration training evidence
* Other recognised managerial qualification
Experience
Essential
* Primary/Named Nursing
* Shift management over a span of duty
* Assessment, care planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care
* Nursing care of informal and detained patients
* Experience with learning disability/autistic individuals with complex needs
* Managing incidents and maintaining health, safety & wellbeing
* Receiving and delivering managerial and clinical supervision
Regulatory & Professional
Care must comply with the Mental Health Act and Mental Capacity Act, Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards, Human Rights Act, and local policies. Adherence to safeguarding protocols and NICE/NMC guidelines is required.
