Hugh Baird College is looking for a Lecturer in Electrical Installation to join the Building Services team. The role delivers high‑quality teaching across Levels 1–3 and may include 16–18 learners, adult students, and apprentices.

Port Academy Building, Liverpool • Full-Time, Permanent
Compensation and Benefits
* Salary: up to £45,000 including market supplement DOE
* Up to £6,000 Government Retention Incentive (if eligible)

Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver engaging lessons across Electrical Installation for Levels 1–3
* Assess and support learners to achieve their goals
* Provide constructive feedback and contribute to curriculum development
* Manage course administration (enrolment, registration, attendance)
* Collaborate with the team to shape teaching approaches and share industry insights
* Ensure compliance with awarding body requirements where applicable
Requirements
* Essential: Minimum Level 3 vocational qualification in Electrical Installation or equivalent
* Essential: Teaching qualification (PGCE/CertEd) or willingness to work towards one
* Essential: Relevant and recent industry experience
* Essential: Ability to motivate and inspire learners
* Essential: Strong communication and feedback skills
* Desirable: Experience teaching in FE or workplace settings
* Desirable: Knowledge of awarding body requirements
Industry and Eligibility
Industry experience is required; teaching experience is not mandatory. The role aligns with government priorities in building and construction and may include eligible incentive programs for new staff.
