Overview
Our client is a global financial institution with a strong presence in trading and investment services. Their Operations division underpins the business by providing comprehensive support across multiple areas including fixed income and equity markets, treasury management, and emerging product lines. The function is central to delivering an efficient end-to-end service to clients, covering trade capture, cash and securities management, reconciliations, transaction processing, collateral, valuations, and confirmations.
This team also partners with business units and control functions on change initiatives, system enhancements, and new product development.
The Role
The successful candidate will act as a subject matter expert (SME) across MiFID II, EMIR, and SFTR reporting obligations, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and managing daily reporting processes. The role requires strong oversight of reporting flows, reconciliations, and exception management, alongside the ability to liaise with internal stakeholders and external counterparties.
Key Responsibilities
SFTR
* Act as SME on SFTR reporting obligations.
* Oversee message automation and monitoring via DTCC dashboards.
* Manage remediation and resubmission of rejected trades, collateral updates, or re-use data within regulatory deadlines.
* Conduct reconciliations of reportable fields between internal systems and trade repositories.
* Coordinate UTI generation and exchange with counterparties.
* Maintain accurate records of classifications, delegated reporting, and UTI logic.
* Respond to and resolve counterparty queries relating to delegated reporting.
* Oversee CCP statement management and ensure proper data consumption.
MiFID II
* Act as SME on MiFID II obligations.
* Monitor daily trade and transaction reporting to ensure timeliness and accuracy.
* Manage APA reporting via Trax/Bloomberg/TradeEcho GUIs.
* Resolve exceptions promptly to meet regulatory deadlines.
* Perform reconciliations and monitor potential clearing breaches, escalating where required.
* Standardise operational tasks and embed best practices into consolidated reporting procedures.
EMIR
* Act as SME on EMIR reporting obligations.
* Oversee automated reporting and DTCC dashboard monitoring.
* Remediate and resubmit any rejected transactions or valuation updates within deadlines.
* Perform daily reconciliations and manage pairing/matching with counterparties.
* Monitor potential clearing breaches and escalate as necessary.
* Contribute to the development of standardised reporting processes.
Change & Continuous Improvement
* Contribute to regulatory projects and business change initiatives across MiFID II, EMIR, and SFTR.
* Collaborate with ISD, Compliance, and Legal teams to implement tactical and strategic improvements.
* Raise and track issues via JIRA, providing thorough analysis where required.
Skills & Experience Required
* Strong background in trade & transaction reporting with direct exposure to MiFID II, EMIR, and SFTR.
* Solid knowledge of the regulatory frameworks and the products covered under these regimes.
* Proficiency in Excel (intermediate/advanced) plus solid Word and PowerPoint skills.
* Experience with reporting tools such as Message Automation, Trax, DTCC, and UnaVista (desirable).
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
* Ability to support and drive change initiatives.
