Blacker Hall Farm in Wakefield is looking for a Full Time Assistant Manager to join our great team in our restaurant, The Barn Kitchen.
You will need to be experienced in managing the daily operations of running of a busy restaurant, creating a positive experience for your customer and have enthusiasm to motivate and inspire your team. You should have a keen eye for detail and be interested in local and fresh produce. Leadership and management experience is essential.
This is a varied role working alongside a great team with lots of scope for you to input your own ideas, develop your career and contribute to the growth and success of the business. You will work closely with our Head of Front of House Manager towards a common goal outlined in our Vision and Mission Statement. Everything we do at Blacker Hall Farm is about great quality fresh and seasonal food and you'll be at the very heart of that. We aim to provide our customers with the very highest quality food and best possible experience. We're proud to say all the produce you will be working with is either home-reared on our family farm or sourced from other great local farms and producers.

Blacker Hall Farm Shop was established in 2001, born out of John Garthwaite's passion to sell his grass fed beef direct from the family farm to the customer. What was once a small farm shop and butchery has now grown into a thriving business employing over 100 local people comprising of a full carcass butchery, fishmongers, delicatessen, restaurant, food to go, greengrocery, Little Farmer's Trail and a working farm. We've stayed true to our heritage and today all the pork and beef we sell at Blacker Hall is still home reared on the family farm here in Wakefield.

ABOUT YOU …
* Ideally, you will have a minimum of two years management experience in a restaurant setting. You should be able to display good practice in team management with an understanding of what great productivity looks like.
* You will have experience of working to weekly turnover targets, KPI's, costs and average spend.
* You will be able to display experience in staff training and have an understanding of the need for nurturing and developing our team members.
* You will value working with fresh, local ingredients to produce quality products.
* You will be able to communicate, in detail, the daily operations of running a busy restaurant.
* You must have a genuine love for service.
* You will need to be a strong team player with great communication skills and an enthusiastic approach; you're well organised and punctual with an eye for detail.
* You have a positive "can do" attitude to solving problems in a professional and courteous manner. You want to be part of a team that works hard to look after our customer and works hard to support each other
* You will possess a good knowledge of food safety, hygiene practices and you will be proficient in allergen awareness.
