Job Description
3. Drafting wills, powers of attorney, and basic trust documentation
4. Assisting in the administration of estates, including preparing inventory, confirmation (Scottish probate), and inheritance tax forms
5. Liaising with clients, beneficiaries, executors, and other professionals
6. Preparing and submitting applications for guardianship and intervention orders
7. Conducting legal research and staying up to date with relevant Scottish legislation and case law
8. Assisting with inheritance tax planning and asset protection strategies
9. Maintaining accurate case files and ensuring compliance with Law Society of Scotland and internal protocols
10. Supporting solicitors in client meetings and taking notes as required
11. Handling client communications in a professional, empathetic, and timely manner
12. Ensuring confidentiality and data protection compliance at all times
The Successful Applicant
13. Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a private client role within a Scottish legal setting
14. Sound understanding of Scottish succession law and executry procedures
15. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
16. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple files efficiently
17. High level of discretion and empathy when dealing with clients in sensitive situations
18. Proficient in case management systems and Microsoft Office
