Trust HR Business Partner – Harbour Learning Trust
Location: Healing Academy, Grimsby
Salary Scale: PO1, points 30‑35, £40,777 – £45,091 (FTE)
Salary: £36,245 – £40,080 (actual)
Contract: Permanent, term time plus 10 days
Hours: 37 hrs per week, 40 weeks per year
Reports to: Head of HR & Safeguarding

Key Responsibilities
* Employee relations: manage ER and absence cases, including investigations, disciplinary, grievances, and performance improvement.
* Relationship management: build strong working relationships with internal stakeholders, external agencies, trade unions, and legal advisors.
* Safeguarding & recruitment: work with recruitment to ensure safeguarding procedures, DBS, and safer recruitment clearances.
* Policy & best practice: review HR policies and procedures to keep them in line with employment law and legal requirements.
* Data integrity: accurately update HR systems and provide timely reports to support strategic decision-making.

We are seeking an experienced practitioner who is organised, approachable, and committed to driving up standards of HR service.
Essential Requirements
* Degree level education (or equivalent) with GCSE Grade C or equivalent in English and Maths.
* Proven experience working within an educational environment and a unionised setting.
* In-depth knowledge of employment law and safeguarding/safe recruitment principles.
* Experience handling complex ER cases and building professional relationships.
* Valid driving licence and access to a vehicle for travel across Trust sites.
* Commitment to safeguarding and the Harbour Learning Trust's DANCE values.
