About The Role
Be part of this ‘once in a generation’ project that will deliver clean energy to 6 million homes for the next 60 years. Sizewell C will see the creation of a 3.2 Gigawatt nuclear power station on the Suffolk coast to provide reliable load low-carbon electricity.
The Civil Works Alliance is an extended delivery enterprise involving Sizewell C and three international construction companies: Balfour Beatty, Bouygues Travaux Publics and Laing O’Rourke.
We are more than just an alliance, we are bringing together a single delivery organisation with years of learning and experience from other major complex infrastructure programmes worldwide.
What you'll be doing
Be part of an effective project Quality Team and support CWA to deliver the project in accordance with
customer and stakeholder requirements and commitments, including verification activities to demonstrate
full compliance with Sizewell C, project and legislative requirements.
Site-Based Quality Control: Conduct routine site inspections to verify that construction activities
comply with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, inspection and test plans (ITPs),
and quality requirements.
* Witness and Hold Points: Monitor and witness key construction activities in accordance with ITPs.
Ensure that required hold points are respected and not bypassed without proper approval.
Who we're looking for
BSc engineering or science degree
* Preferable experience on construction projects working
* Preferable experience in Quality Management Systems
* Awareness and understanding of quality and/or technical standards
* Preferable practical experience in quality and facilitation skills and experience
* Has an ability to gather, analyse and evaluate facts.
* Pays attention to detail and sees things through to completion
* Pro-active, innovative, self-starter who manages their own time and seeks to add value to their
function
* Has good interpersonal and communication skills
* Is good at building relationships and can influence effectively.
* Certified to ISO 9001:2015 internal auditor
* Fully proficient in modern office computer systems and technology Process minded, structurerd
approach, eye for detail but also the bigger picture
* Pragmatic, practical and reliable
* Preferable a formal qualification in Quality Management e.g. Diploma in Quality Management (UK
Chartered Quality Institute, British Standards Institute or equivalent
