About the Practice As the only independent veterinary group in Huddersfield, the practice operates a thriving multi-centre mixed service with 44 vets across six surgeries. The successful candidate will join a supportive 7-vet team at the charming village branch that houses the Animal Rehabilitation Centre, established in 2008. This purpose-built facility helps patients recovering from surgery, living with chronic arthritis, neurological or spinal conditions, or rebuilding fitness and muscle tone. Equipment includes two underwater treadmills, therapeutic ultrasound and laser units, electrotherapy for pain relief and muscle maintenance (TSE, TENS, NMES), and a wide range of exercise equipment. The Role This position blends first-opinion small-animal work with the chance to develop specialist skills in rehabilitation, pain management, and sports medicine. Professional development is actively supported, with funding and encouragement for CPD and certificate study to help you achieve your career goals. The Team The practice director is a Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner and qualified veterinary acupuncturist whose passion for advanced rehabilitation and sports medicine sets the tone for the whole team. Highly trained RVNs—many pursuing further rehabilitation qualifications—work alongside auxiliary nurses and an experienced support crew. The wider veterinary network includes certificate holders in diagnostic imaging, surgery, ophthalmology, and ECC, creating a rich environment for collaboration and learning. Working Pattern 4-day week (8:15 am – 6:15 pm) 1 in 4 Saturdays (9 am – 2 pm) One late shift (10:15 am – 8:15 pm) every two weeks Around 1:9 daytime weekends at the hospital No routine night work, thanks to a dedicated 3-vet night team A recent move to an earlier weekday finish demonstrates a strong commitment to work–life balance.
