Here at MRJ, we’re helping unite two household names in one of the most exciting M&A transformations happening in UK tech right now.
At the heart of this integration is a huge cloud modernisation programme, bringing together two large-scale AWS environments, embedding FinOps best practice, and building a more transparent, efficient, and scalable cloud ecosystem for the future.
We’re now looking for a FinOps Analyst to join the cloud integration programme, playing a pivotal role in helping engineering, finance, and procurement speak the same language when it comes to cloud spend and value.
Inside IR35 | Fully Remote | 12-month contract
What will your role / responsibilities be?
* Turn cloud data into clarity. Analyse spend across multi-account AWS (and some Azure) environments, spotting trends, forecasting spend, and uncovering optimisation opportunities.
* Enable cost-aware decisions. Partner with Cloud Engineering, Finance, and Procurement to ensure budgets, forecasts, and investments are aligned across the business.
* Champion best practice. Drive accountability through tagging, showback models, and governance, while helping teams understand the “why” behind cloud costs.
* Support large-scale integration. Help cost profile, forecast, and optimise the migration and decommissioning of systems following a major merger.
* Evolve the FinOps toolkit. Enhance dashboards, automate reporting, and introduce new ways to surface real-time insights and drive action.
To be considered for this contract, you will offer:
* Proven experience in FinOps, Cloud Economics, or Cloud Cost Management – ideally in large-scale or multi-account cloud environments.
* Strong analytical skills with hands-on experience using AWS Cost Explorer, CloudHealth, Cloudability, or similar tools.
* Confident working with data (Excel, SQL, or BI tools like Power BI) and turning numbers into meaningful insights.
* Familiarity with budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling (OPEX/CAPEX).
* Excellent communicator – comfortable translating between technical and financial stakeholders.
* Experience working on migration, integration, or M&A projects is highly desirable.
* FinOps Foundation certification (or equivalent) is a plus.
