Accountant -Personal Tax
Salary: £26,000 – £30,000 (DOE) Hours: Full‑time, Permanent
A well‑established and forward‑thinking accountancy practice in Wimborne is seeking a motivated Personal Tax Accountant to join its growing team. You’ll work with a varied portfolio of clients, gaining exposure to both compliance and advisory work, while being supported to progress towards managing your own portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
1. Manage personal tax returns — Prepare Self Assessment Tax Returns for a diverse client base including individuals, HNWIs, landlords, and sole traders.
2. Develop your own portfolio — Work towards taking ownership of a client portfolio with ongoing support.
3. Provide tailored tax advice — Assist clients with matters such as buy‑to‑let taxation, foreign income, residency, and Capital Gains Tax.
4. Act as a trusted point of contact — Liaise with clients and HMRC, handling queries and supporting tax enquiries.
5. Ensure accurate compliance — Deliver high‑quality, accurate tax compliance work as the core focus of the role.
What you will need.
6. Minimum 2 years’ experience within an accountancy practice
7. Strong working knowledge of UK personal tax and Self Assessment
8. Commercial awareness and a client‑first mindset
9. Proficiency with tax software (IRIS preferred) and Microsoft Office
10. Excellent attention to detail, organisation, and communication skills
11. Proactive attitude and eagerness to grow

12. ATT qualification or part‑qualified
13. Interest in progressing towards CTA
