Are you skilled in credit hire and passionate about delivering outstanding service? We are seeking a knowledgeable and proactive Credit Hire File Handler to join our team.
This role offers an excellent opportunity to investigate complex credit hire claims from a tactical and strategic point. The File Handler is responsible for carrying out complex and technical investigations on claims submitted from specific opponents, with claims up to £25,000 in value. This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of an incredible team and gain experience in investigating credit hire claims with a view to significantly reducing overall spend for our insurer clients.

Key Accountabilities
* Education – at least 3 GCSEs or equivalent are essential and a degree is preferable.
* Ability to use own initiative.
* Ability to plan and prioritise workloads.

* Good telephone negotiation skills.
* Ability to follow work processes and keep to strategy.
* Ability to recognise when sensitivity and tact are required.
* Ability to make decisions and remain calm under pressure.
* Good IT skills including Word and Outlook, and experience of a case management system preferred.
* Experience of credit hire is essential; the applicant should have worked in an environment where they were exposed to credit hire cases for at least 12 months.
Technical Knowledge to be Developed
* Understanding of pre-procedures credit hire.
* The life cycle of a file.
* Knowledge of common law and litigation principles.
* Understanding of costs and protective offers.
* How to prepare a case for litigation.

Working Hours
35 hours per week, Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm with a 1‑hour unpaid lunch break. This is a hybrid role working 1 day in the office and 4 days from home.
Experience, Skills and Qualifications
* Experience of handling credit hire files with evidence of managing own case load.
* Education – at least 5 GCSEs or equivalent are essential and a degree or LPC is preferable.
* Ability to use own initiative.

* Excellent listening and verbal communication skills.
* Good telephone negotiation skills.
* Ability to follow work processes and keep to strategy.
