The Technical Service Representative will provide technical customer support in shipyards and customer sites for Newbuilding and Maintenance & Repair projects. The role also involves frontline sales support through proficient use of AkzoNobel products and services, as well as application techniques, supporting customers with product selection, answering application questions, and solving issues via phone, email, or onsite.
Position is based in Athens and covers Greece & Cyprus.
Key Accountabilities
* Protect the interests of AkzoNobel by ensuring good practice among applicators using Marine and Protective Coatings products.
* Attend paint applications and provide technical advice in accordance with international standards in shipyards and fabrication sites.
* Maintain technical equipment safely and properly.
* Deliver progress reports, provide market trend insights, and recommend improvements.
* Assist sales in implementing strategies and provide technical expertise during sales processes.
* Promote a positive company image and develop long-term customer relationships.
* Advise management on training needs, recruit participants for technical courses, and secure customer attendance.
Key Activities
* Deliver training on product use and application at customer sites and training centers.
* Conduct product demonstrations and transfer knowledge on processes and technical problem-solving.
* Perform technical scans and audits at designated customers.
* Participate in sales processes with prospects, providing technical support.
* Proactively address technical problems with existing customers.
* Assist in testing and implementing new products and technologies.
* Update CRM databases with accurate customer information.
* Collaborate with technical departments on complex issues and customer education.
* Support product development with prototype advice and market testing.
Experience/Key Competences/Skills
* Experience in Marine and Protective Coatings industry (New Building and Maintenance & Repair).
* Experience in inspection and good customer relationships.
* FROSIO level III certification and/or NACE 2.
* Native Greek language; fluent in English.
* Proficient in Office systems (Word, Excel).
* Culturally aware with an international outlook.
* Team player.
* Basic knowledge of health and safety regulations under Greek legislation.
Education
Graduate in Naval Architecture, Chemical Engineering, or comparable fields.
