Join Our Team as a Senior Licensing Officer – Private Hire & Hackney Carriage Vehicle Licensing
Are you ready to take the next step in your Licensing career? We're looking for a dedicated and experienced Senior Licensing Officer to join our fast‑paced and supportive team in the Private Hire and Hackney Carriage Vehicle Licensing function.
Based onsite at Licensing Services, Chapel Street, Bilston, this is a shift‑based role 13:15–21:15, where no two days are the same. You'll be a key player in keeping our Licensing operations running smoothly—working directly with Licensing Officers, providing expert guidance, and supporting the day‑to‑day delivery of a vital public service.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Assisting Licensing Officers with inspections and regulatory compliance
* Providing hands‑on support and technical guidance to team members
* Overseeing processes and ensuring best practice is followed
* Helping to train and onboard new colleagues
Although the role has no formal line management responsibilities, you’ll play a pivotal role in team leadership by sharing your expertise and ensuring smooth operation of daily tasks.
What We’re Looking For
* Significant experience in Licensing (Hackney Carriage/Private Hire is essential)
* A solid understanding of vehicle inspection processes and procedures
* Strong communication and customer service skills
* A flexible, solution‑focused approach with the ability to manage competing priorities
* A detail‑oriented mindset with excellent IT skills
