Executive Director of Nursing, Midwifery and Patient Care
Are you a senior nursing or midwifery leader who is committed to improving quality and patient experience across a complex healthcare system? Can you provide confident professional leadership while contributing fully to the strategic direction of a unitary Board?
We are seeking an Executive Director of Nursing, Midwifery and Patient Care to join Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board. This is a critical Board role with professional responsibility for more than 6500 registered and non‑registered staff across primary, community, mental health and acute services. It offers the scope to influence care at scale and to support meaningful improvements for the 450 000 people we serve.
You will provide visible leadership for nursing, midwifery and the healthcare support workforce, ensuring high standards of practice, a strong focus on quality and safety, and consistent professional accountability. Working as part of the Executive Team and with clinical and operational colleagues across the Health Board, you will develop strategic priorities, support effective governance, and help drive sustainable service transformation.
The portfolio includes executive leadership for safeguarding, infection prevention and control, patient experience, clinical governance, research, volunteering and the Putting Things Right process. You will also play a key role in promoting learning, strengthening workforce planning, and creating the conditions in which colleagues can develop and thrive.
