What You’ll Be Doing:
* Collaborating with an Integrated Development Team to develop and deliver cutting-edge submarine systems and capabilities.
* Focusing on Product Safety tasks and activities across multiple systems to support project milestones throughout the Engineering Life Cycle Management.
* Conducting Hazard Identification and Analysis studies.
* Assisting in the creation of safety reports.
* Ensuring the Integrated Development Team adheres to the project Safety Management System.
* Liaising with other Integrated Development Teams and the Whole Boat Safety Team.
Your Skills and Experiences:
* A Bachelor’s or Master’s Engineering degree with a predicted or obtained 2:2.
* Understanding of Safety and Systems Engineering, along with the Engineering Life Cycle Management.
* Experience in team collaboration and the ability to work independently.
* Agility in adapting to changing working practices and customer expectations.
* Self-motivated with strong verbal and written communication skills.
* Practical experience as a Product Safety Engineer in the maritime defense sector is preferred, but experience from other sectors will also be considered.

BAE Systems Submarines is excited to announce the opening of a brand-new office in Coventry! As we experience significant growth, we are actively recruiting for various roles to support our submarine programs, which are vital to our national defense.
If you’re curious about how submarines operate and how the Royal Navy utilizes them, this role is perfect for you. As a Product Safety Engineer, you will work alongside System Engineers to influence submarine systems and capability development. You’ll gain insights into the intricate workings of submarine systems and ensure that safety considerations are integrated into system interactions.
This role offers a unique opportunity to engage in all aspects of safety management and safety case delivery, including:
* Safety requirements capture and management
* Hazard identification and analysis
* Hazard data management
* Application of the ALARP principle
* Creation and maintenance of safety documentation
* Continuous improvement of the safety management system
