As a Majestic Trainee Manager you will embark on a 12‑month development programme that will give you a detailed understanding and experience of all operational, service and leadership standards expected for future Majestic Store Managers. You will work through the career pathway training programme with the support of your Store Manager, setting you up for long‑term success.
Key Responsibilities
* Drive store performance by maximising sales opportunities.
* Optimise KPI performance by identifying focus KPIs and building plans to improve them, exceeding targets.
* Deliver exceptional market‑leading customer service to drive business growth through loyalty and repeat purchases.
* Provide VIP concierge service, actively contacting customers with updates on products and tastings.
* Sell the story, not the discount, by sharing your passion for the product through in‑depth product knowledge, managing tasting events and executing a commercial tasting counter.
* Take ownership of your wine knowledge, continually learning to support WSET qualification and selling confidence.
* Maintain the physical appearance and upkeep of the store internally and externally.
* Participate in all operational tasks, from wine delivery to stock merchandising and customer calls, to gain a thorough understanding of day‑to‑day store operations.
* Identify opportunities to optimise operational running and implement improvements.
* Ensure full compliance with safety, legal and internal policy requirements, completing mandatory training.
* Own your development, utilising the support and resources available.
* Act as a role model for Majestic’s Ways of Working, supporting junior team members and feeding back to the Store Manager as appropriate.
Key Criteria / Qualifications
* Driving requirement: operation of a company van and comfort driving larger vehicles.
* Full UK manual driving licence held for a minimum of 12 months, with no more than six penalty points.
* Full flexibility to work weekends and evenings (44 hours per week, including evenings and weekends).
* Experience in a fast‑paced, target‑driven retail or hospitality environment.
* Demonstrated ability to deliver exceptional customer experience and service.
* Strong prioritisation and strategic problem‑solving skills in high‑pressure situations.
* Self‑motivated, able to thrive both independently and as part of a team.
* Can‑do attitude with a passion for seeing problems through to solutions.
* Adaptable and resilient to meet evolving business demands.
* Excellent communication and time‑management skills.
* Wine knowledge is beneficial; passion to learn is essential to progress through Level 2 & 3 WSET wine qualifications.
