What it's like to work here
Sandham Memorial Chapel has a small team of staff and volunteers, who during the day open the Chapel to visitors for them to marvel at the wonders of the paintings by Stanley Spencer. This role reports into the Site Manager and will require occasional attendance during opening hours for training purposes.
What you'll be doing
The National Trust Acts state that a primary purpose of the organisation is to preserve its assets, which include historic buildings, collections and natural sites. To meet this purpose this role will be required to respond to any incident at Sandham Memorial Chaplel in a safe, effective and compliant manner.
Your contact details will be transferred from the main site phone after the day shift finishes at 5pm and you will be required to respond to any out of hours incidents that happen on site. This could be anything from a security alarm, fire alarm or an attempted intrusion. As the property has a security company monitoring the onsite CCTV and alarm systems you would be notified if there was an incident that needed attention.
With the training that you will receive your response will depend on the situation that you face, attending site if needed. In the event of an emergency situation, you will be responsible for escalating the incident to your line manager and senior managers within the Trust whilst supporting the initial response from the emergency services.
