The Role of this Personal Care Assistant:
Our personal care assistants join our client’s support team, providing reliable, essential care and support. They will be employed by HomeCareDirect on behalf of the client, focusing on supporting a young man with a brain injury to live independently at home. The role involves covering 36 hours a week.
About the Client and Duties:
This is a rewarding opportunity to support a young man with a brain injury as he lives independently. Your role will be to empower him to lead an active and fulfilling life by providing personal care, companionship, and assistance with multidisciplinary therapies.
Key responsibilities include supporting him in social and sporting activities, helping him build meaningful connections, and assisting with daily living tasks such as meal preparation, supporting health & fitness, diary management, and managing finances.
Candidate Requirements:
We are seeking a compassionate and proactive individual to work closely with the client, his family, and therapists to enhance his quality of life. Candidates should demonstrate core values aligned with our client, including a willingness to learn, honesty, integrity, and a zest for life.
Experience in a similar role and good physical fitness to support manual tasks are preferred. The candidate must be compassionate, trustworthy, and able to work with initiative within a family home environment, which includes dogs.
