About the Company
A leading global technology services provider with decades of experience delivering mission-critical infrastructure and connectivity services. The organisation offers comprehensive IT support and solutions, from structured cabling and smart hands services to large-scale deployment and managed services, helping clients build, optimise and maintain reliable digital environments.
Role Overview
We are looking for a Smart Hands / Break-Fix Engineer to support infrastructure services across enterprise data centres and office environments. This highly visible, hands-on role is key to delivering IT support and IMACD services (Installs, Moves, Adds, Changes, and Decommissions) for critical client operations.
You’ll be involved in a range of responsibilities—from basic patching and hardware fault-finding, through to leading project-based refreshes, installations, and migrations. This is a shift-based role, reporting to a Service Delivery Manager, and will involve occasional overtime.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver on-site support for IT hardware break/fix tasks, equipment installs, decommissions, moves, and upgrades.
* Conduct structured cabling installations and testing using tools such as Fluke testers.
* Identify and resolve network connectivity or cabling issues in workplace and data centre environments.
* Maintain accurate records through asset management and ticketing systems.
* Follow complex change management and service delivery processes.
* Support onboarding and mentoring of new team members.
* Supervise shift activities and project delivery as required.
* Act as a point of escalation or temporary team lead during peak periods or staff absences.
* Strong background in IT support within enterprise-level or regulated environments (e.g., financial services, banking).
* Hands-on experience with ICT hardware deployment, MACs (Moves/Adds/Changes), and break/fix tasks.
* Proven track record in structured cabling (installation, testing, and troubleshooting).
* Working knowledge of cabling standards and types (FTP, UTP, Optical Fibre).
* High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
* Experience using asset management and ticketing systems.
* Strong prioritisation, multitasking, and problem-solving abilities.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively under pressure.
* Strong attention to detail, organisational and leadership skills.

* Formal IT training or certifications
* Experience with Intelligent Infrastructure Management systems
* CompTIA Certifications (A+, Network+, Server+)
