As part of a developmental vision to support our delivery of FE Art and Design courses we are currently recruiting for Vocational Skills Practitioner to join our creative team in Eastbourne. This is a great opportunity to work within a team and support the delivery of specialist teaching on our F courses to ensure the smooth and creative running of the department. The Art and Design department has provided specialist avenues of art and design thinking for many people in the town across many generations and communities, with a notable reputation for providing exceptional progression routes for our students amongst many prestigious universities. This exciting role will include: • providing technical support in classrooms/studios and workshops • maintaining service for equipment (especially within the fashion and textiles department) • stock management including ordering and control • demonstrating safe and appropriate use of equipment and machinery across a variety of curriculum and workshops If you can demonstrate the following, then we’d love to hear from you: • sound communication and interpersonal skills • strong organizational and time-management abilities • practical experience with art and design tools and equipment • ability to provide hands-on technical support and guidance • problem-solving skills and attention to detail • flexibility and a proactive approach to supporting creative projects • a commitment to health and safety standards in workshop environments Closing date: 22nd August 2025 with interviews planned for w/c 25th August 2025. College location: Based at our Eastbourne campus. Salary: actual salary circa £12,748 per annum (based on FTE salary of £24,681 p.a.)
