Country Engagement Manager Contract: Permanent, full time (35 hours per week) Salary: £36,617 - £50,972 Location: Senegal or Cote D’Ivoire Due to the nature of this role, it is an occupational requirement for the successful candidate to be based in either Senegal or Cote d'Ivoire. This is essential to meet the needs of regional expertise. Candidates must have the right to work in either Senegal or Cote d'Ivoire to be considered for this position, as LSTM will be unable to provide work permits for this post. Role purpose We are seeking an experienced Country Engagement Manager to support IVCC’s engagement across West and Central Africa, strengthening and developing new partnerships and enabling the adoption of new vector control tools. In this role, you'll collaborate with national malaria programs, research institutions, donors, vector control implementing partners and industry partners to gather insights, shape market intelligence, and support the introduction of innovative vector control products. This role involves extensive travel and requires an experienced professional with a well-established and active network within public health, malaria control, and vector control communities in West and Central Africa region. Key responsibilities: Market insights and intelligence Gather and consolidate market insights from a broad range of stakeholders, including country partners, technical committees, and implementing agencies. Collect and share data relating to commodities forecasting, user feedback, and insecticide resistance to inform IVCC strategy and activities. Engage regularly with partner countries to provide updates on IVCC projects and initiatives. Accelerating introduction of innovation Facilitate interaction between IVCC teams, national malaria programmes, and research institutions to ensure field-level operational challenges are well understood. Support countries in the implementation of IRM strategies and encourage the uptake of new vector control tools. Work closely with industry partners and distributors to support field trials and navigate regulatory processes. Development project support Contribute to the development of country partnerships and market-shaping initiatives to enable the successful introduction of innovative tools. Provide technical and contextual insights to strengthen partnerships, support operational research, and help address barriers to adoption Development of public-private partnerships Identify and support opportunities to establish public-private partnerships that expand access to innovative vector control products. Build and maintain productive relationships with private sector actors, manufacturers, and national partners. Contribute to discussions and planning for integrated approaches to market shaping and product deployment. Advocacy and stakeholder management Represent IVCC in national and regional forums, ensuring that key stakeholders comprehend its mission and strategy. Create and maintain effective working relationships with government agencies, donor organisations, NGOs, and regional networks. Support communications and advocacy initiatives by gathering insights, case studies, and partner perspectives from across the region. About you Degree or equivalent professional qualification in Public Health, International Relations/Development, Social Marketing, Malaria, Project Management, etc. Bilingual, fluent in French and English Well-established and active network within public health, malaria control, and vector control communities in West and Central Africa, with the ability to undertake extensive travel. Substantial hands-on practical experience in the management and implementation of market access-related projects in Africa Proven ability to work successfully with high-level representatives from industry, donors, international organisations and partner-country stakeholders, including government officials and private sector entities Strong experience in building working relationships with people at all levels and from diverse cultures. International public health experience, especially vector control, would be an advantage. Strong track record of leadership and influencing skills. Experience of leading and implementing vector control projects in multi countries in Africa. Multi-Country experience in West and Central Africa, particularly in Francophone countries will be additional plus.
