Job Description: Non-Emergency Patient Transport Scheduler
The Non Emergency Patient Transport Service (NEPTS) provides non-emergency and pre-planned transport to and from hospitals and treatment centres for patients attending outpatient clinics, day surgery units, and day centres. The service is a vital link between communities and is an integral part of healthcare provided by the Ambulance Service in Wales.
The successful candidates will be responsible for scheduling all non-emergency patient journeys within a specific geographical area, which has a high volume of patient journeys daily. Good organisational skills are essential for this role.
The role involves working to specific deadlines, efficiently managing additional or late transport requests, and optimising the use of available resources. The post also requires updating scheduled work to include on-the-day amendments and reallocations of patients as needed.
Applicants should ideally have good geographical knowledge of South Wales and possess a good educational standard, along with strong typing and IT skills. Experience working in a busy, demanding environment is preferred, and a positive, proactive attitude is essential.
Ability to speak Welsh is desirable; applications from Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome.
