This role will be primarily based at one key site but may involve travel to other locations within the group. The successful candidate will play a vital role in driving compliance, promoting a positive safety culture, and ensuring the highest standards in health, safety, environment, and quality (SHEQ).Key ResponsibilitiesConduct regular site audits and inspections, ensuring SHEQ compliance across operations.Advise teams and management on site-specific safety and environmental practices.Act as Permit Controller, ensuring all work permits and inspections are accurately issued and recorded.Investigate incidents, near misses and accidents; identify root causes and implement corrective actions.Deliver and coordinate training on SHEQ topics, ensuring staff are competent and informed.Maintain and report on SHEQ performance metrics, recommending improvements where necessary.Support the preparation and review of RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements).Candidate ProfileEssential:NEBOSH or IOSH qualified (or working towards)SMSTS (Units 1–3) certificationExperience within utilities, construction or civils environmentsStrong working knowledge of CDM 2015 regulationsConfident in incident investigation and SHEQ reportingExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsPhysically fit and comfortable working in site environmentsDesirable:Experience supporting high-security or critical infrastructure projectsAbility to influence and engage at all levels of the organisationThis is a hands-on, site-focused role suited to a practical, solutions-driven safety professional.
