We are a specialist aerospace engineering company delivering precision-machined components to leading OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers. Due to ongoing growth and increased demand, we are recruiting skilled CNC Milling Machine Operators to join our night shift team.
Role Overview:
As a CNC Milling Operator, you will be responsible for the operation of CNC milling machines fitted with Heidenhain controls, producing complex aerospace components to the highest quality standards. This role is ideally suited to individuals with a strong background in precision machining, who are confident working independently during night hours.
Key Responsibilities:
* Operate CNC milling machines programmed with Heidenhain controls to machine aerospace components.
* Load and unload components, carry out basic machine adjustments, and monitor performance throughout the cycle.
* Conduct in-process quality checks using precision measuring equipment (micrometers, calipers, etc.).
* Follow detailed aerospace engineering drawings, work instructions, and job cards.
* Ensure components meet tight tolerances and quality standards required in aerospace applications.
* Accurately complete all necessary production and quality documentation.
* Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organised work area in accordance with company standards.
* Communicate effectively with the day shift to ensure continuity of production and any issues are properly handed over.
Required Skills & Experience:
* Proven experience operating CNC milling machines with Heidenhain control systems.
* Previous experience in aerospace or high-precision manufacturing environments.
* Familiarity with machining aerospace-grade materials such as aluminium, titanium, and stainless steel.
* Ability to follow tight tolerance specifications (typically ±0.01mm or better).
* Competent in reading and interpreting technical engineering drawings.
* Skilled in using standard inspection tools for dimensional checks.
* Self-motivated and reliable, with the ability to work independently on a night shift.
Desirable:
* Experience with AS9100 or similar aerospace quality standards.
* Previous experience working unsupervised on a night shift.
