Key responsibilities include:
* Managing end-to-end processing of monthly payrolls for approximately 100 clients, ensuring accuracy and statutory compliance.
* Resolving technical payroll issues and assisting colleagues with their portfolios as needed.
* Handling complex data inputs such as holiday, overtime, maternity, sickness, term-time calculations, and allowances.
* Processing starters, leavers, changes, backdated pay, and TUPE-related calculations.
* Managing multiple pension schemes, including Teachers' Pensions and defined contribution schemes, ensuring correct auto-enrolment and opt-out procedures.
* Liaising with third-party pension providers for submissions and contributions.
* Preparing P45s, P60s, and year-end reports in compliance with HMRC regulations.
* Collaborating with other departments for reporting and process improvements.
Experience ideally required:
* Motivated self-starter with initiative, capable of working independently and as part of a team.
* Previous payroll experience, preferably with Sage; knowledge of CCH and Xero is advantageous but not essential.
* Experience working in a Bureau or Accountancy practice.
* Strong knowledge of payroll legislation and auto-enrolment administration.
* Excellent communication skills and customer focus.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
