6 hours per week in the school holidays.
About the recipient
The individual is female and resides in Snaith. They require a dedicated and suitable person to support them due to having Rubinstein-Taybi Syndrome and autism.
They like to go out particularly to the shops, the park or soft play.
About the role
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
1. Assisting the individual with medication.
2. Assisting with personal care and toileting due to the individual being doubly incontinent.
3. Assisting the individual with accessing activities and spending time out in the community.
4. Attending/transporting the individual to social activities
5. Encouraging social interaction and inclusion and providing emotional support.
This role would suit someone with experience working with children with additional needs but are open to applicants with the right attitude and a caring, patient approach.
About the candidate
The suitable candidate must:
6. Be motivated, proactive and able to work on their own initiative.
7. Be patient, caring, understanding and engaging.
8. Have good communication skills (clear and effective communication).
9. Be able to build a positive relationship with the individual to both encourage and support them.
10. Have previous experience supporting an individual with additional needs.
11. Be flexible to accommodate the hours of work where necessary.
12. A driving licence is a bonus but not essential.
13. Be comfortable with animals to assist with the individual's large, friendly dog.
14. Knowledge of Makaton would be helpful, but guidance and support can be given with this.
DBS/Reference checks will be required for this post - Cost to be met by the local authority.
