As a Youth Advisor, you will provide guidance, support, and resources to assist young people in navigating challenges during their transition to adulthood. You will collaborate with youth, families, and community stakeholders to address issues related to education, employment, health, relationships, and personal development.
Key Responsibilities
1. Provide counseling and support: Offer one-on-one assistance to young people facing personal, academic, or social challenges, helping them develop coping and problem-solving skills.
2. Support educational goals: Assist in setting academic objectives, exploring educational opportunities, and accessing resources like tutoring and scholarships.
3. Assist with career development: Guide young people in exploring career options, resume writing, job searches, and interview preparation.
4. Conduct workshops: Facilitate group sessions on life skills such as communication, financial literacy, and decision-making.
5. Coordinate with community partners: Work with schools and organizations to enhance support systems for youth.
6. Respond to crises: Address mental health emergencies, family conflicts, and safety concerns, providing immediate support and referrals.
7. Advocate for youth: Promote the rights and needs of young people within the community and empower them to participate in decision-making.
Maintain confidential records of interactions, assessments, and referrals, and prepare reports as required.
